For some time now we have been looking for a new name for the drop-in. “Drop-in” is not a phrase that translates well so most of our service users have been referring to our sessions as “Turkish school” or “Sunday school” amongst themselves. Since we are no longer only reaching the Turkish-speaking community, and given that Sunday School has religious connotations for many, we felt it was time for a review.

Following consultation with service users and volunteers, we are pleased to announce that RAY’s Sunday drop-in will now be known as The Hub. This name comes from the principle that all the services we offer - including homework support, hardship financial help, youth service, home visits and support and more - all stem from the Sunday session.

We hope you like our new name, which will be adopted from January 2014.
