Preparing for the "new normal"!

We’ve had some brilliant and generous help to provide our community with the necessary equipment to cope with the “new normal”. We received a donation of 80 facemasks from our friends at https://nadlab.uk up in Stockton-on-Tees. We’ve been distributing the masks to service users over the past two weeks so that everybody is ready for the new rules requiring us to wear masks when shopping. Thanks very much to NAD Lab for that.

If you would like to make a financial donation towards items such as new underwear/socks, trainers, toiletries and other essentials, or to support our general work in York with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants you can give here: https://www.justgiving.com/refugeeactionyork

Coronavirus - Update from RAY

RAY will not be running any Hub sessions, coffee mornings, or Youth club sessions until further notice. This is because the government is advising that we avoid all contact with other people wherever possible. We are continuing to support our users via online, phone and video calls wherever appropriate.

If you need help or advice (eg immigration queries, housing, debt problems) we are still available by phone or text message – see Contact Us for details.

If you are interested in volunteering with RAY, we are not able to accept any new applications at the moment, but please do email Carole@refugeeactionyork.com to register your interest and we will then contact you as soon as the situation changes.

FANCY RUNNING 10K FOR RAY?

People of all abilities are encouraged to join in the York 10K on Sunday 2nd August, so whether you're a serious runner or someone who just likes a good walk please think about getting involved. If you can't take part yourself but know someone who's thinking of entering this event it would be great if you could suggest that they run for us. Or alternatively would you like to pay the entry fee for one of RAY's service users and so that we can support everybody and raise funds.

If you want to get involved in any way please email - volunteerrep@refugeeactionyork.com

ALSO...if you want to get fit and train for the York 10k we are planning on getting a group that can train together. It's always easier training with a group than just by yourself. If you're interested please email volunteerrep@refugeeactionyork.com
